Seperation
I think this sums up today perfectly.
8 commentsHave we still got time?
There was a time I thought
Time when I’d think I thought you knew me
And I knew you
And I’d talk to you and you’d speak to me
And I’d speak to you and you’d talk to me
But there’s no time
It’s a past crossed out, crossed out
Erased with a red line
We never speak at allIt’s over
I want to live
It’s over
I want to live
Something’s gone
It’s the light in your eyes, there’s no light in your eyes
Now you don’t love me
And I don’t love you
But I’m not telling you
Cos you mime and you lie, and you lie when you mime
Now you don’t talk to me
And I don’t talk to you
We’ll never speak againIt’s over
I want to live
It’s over
I want you live
You understand
You understand it must be broken
Destroyed
There’s no chance ’til it’s torn apart from the inside
But I’ll be rid of you
Now I know
Now I know I need it too
Give it to me
Give it to me
Give it to me
Give it to me
We’ll never speak again

So I was reminded today of a phrase that we used to say to a very good friend of mine back in the days before he thought it was a wonderful idea to jump off mountains with nought but a teatowel on his back (it’s a telling fact that I stood last Tuesday, as I do every year on the aniversary of his death, looking at the night sky and thinking “you prat!”). Scott had a way with words in so far as they had a tendancy to tumble out of his mouth before any kind of filtering or sensorship could be applied, often to histerical effect at his, or someone elses expense. A sage peice of advice that we would tell him repeatably (and that he would ignore completely) was:
A closed mouth gathers no foot.
I think more people than just Scott could benifit from this, especially

I’m a firm believer in the fact that relationships fail due to a lack of communication. Yes, there are a million and one reasons why the relations appear to fail, but at the end of the day it’s all down to lack of communication. I got proved right [once again] today. I ‘heard’ something and made an assumption that could have lead to me damaging a good friendship had I acted directly on that assumption. Thankfully I spoke to the person involved and realised the whole thing was just a silly misunderstanding. Friendship intact, pride slightly dented for being such a spoon but that’s my own fault. I dread to think how it could have turned out. Instead I just have another story to add to ‘The Evils Of Facebook’ ![]()
Thought for the day
You are a child of the Universe, no less than the moon and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the Universe is unfolding as it should.
Ehrmann, Max
Humans are strange creatures. For all our supposed intelligence we spend an awful lot of our time looking back and dwelling on the past, or looking forward and wishing on the future when we really should be looking at the here and now. We cannot change the past so why dwell on it? After all, it defines who we are as we are the sum of our actions and to deny our past is to deny ourselves. Wishing away our lives serves no benefit, you are better served expending the effort in positive action to make the desired outcomes a reality.
Unhappiness come from wishing for unobtainable things: wishing a loved one were not dead; wishing someone would love you; wishing for more money; wishing for some gadget or luxury. Happiness comes from acceptance. Take the good from everything, learn from your experiences. The Universe is unfolding as it should. Don’t fight it.
[Heavy weekend, heavy post but there are a few of you out there who could benefit from it.]
