Shirt Watch: Special Edition

So new shirts mean we need to iron (I never used to iron my old shirts, they never really needed it). To date I’ve probably ironed about 3 shirts in my life (OK, so it’s more than that, but all the other ones I have done have been declared ‘rubbish’ by various women and redone) and I’m not exactly good at it. So, the good news is I’ve ironed about 7 shirts and I’ve got quicker at it (5 minutes for the last one versus 30 minutes for the first), the bad news is I have two burns on my hand (looks like I need to be careful when getting the iron of its special base) and I’ve discovered just how crap my ironing board is. We’ll be getting a new one this weekend me thinks. So, ironing sucks but now we have photographic evidence of me doing it (in a new shirt incidentally). Enjoy.

Shirt Watch: Black

I bought about 6 of these tops last year when I had a minor style change (OK, so I needed new shirts, couldn’t find the ones I wanted in M&S, decided as it was summer I should get something short sleeved and found them in Gap, I can call it a style change if I want. There is a nice irony that its taken me a year to throw some of the old shirts out, and the other half will probably be kept for another year :) ). Anyway, it was hot this weekend and I hadn’t done any ironing so I threw one of these on. Given the number I have the may still feature a lot :)

Shirt Watch: Old Skool

The astute among you will have noticed  a lack of shirtwatch post yesterday. The reason for this is twofold. Firstly, I’ve run out of clean, new shirts that don’t need ironing (this whole having to iron shirts is going to be a huge pain in the arse) so resorted to wearing a regulation black shirt from the BC era [before colour] and, secondly, I forgot to take a photo. I had a bit of a hectic day, went out for team drinks, got home late and by the time I remembered I’d already got ready for bed and dropped the shirt in the washing bag.

Never fear, today I wore an identical black shirt from the BC era (as I’ve still not ironed) so today’s shot will work for both days :) I have bought a further 5 shirts today (although two are repeats on what I have already in a purple stripe and white linen as I liked those) so hopefully I will have enough shirtage to last between ironing sessions. Tomorrow will see a return to Glorious Technicolor but we will then be resorting to black tops (bought during my minor image change just over a year ago) due to me galavanting round the country this weekend and having to carry lots of stuff.

Anyway, without further ado, the shirt:

Shirt watch: Light Purple

Old shirt, and one of my favorites. This one is a smart shirt bought for use with suits so requires cuff links (some rather splendid half ones made from real 1/2p coins). Don’t I just look so awkward in the photo? :D

Shirt watch: Light Blue

Prefer my dark blue one, but I’ve had that for a while, so I decided to try the light blue one. Here endeth the parade of shirts I bought recently, from here on in its old shirts or ones bought this week (yup, off to buy more :D ).

Oh - do we think the photo is any good? I’m toying with the idea of putting it up ont the dating sites as I think its not too bad.

Shirt watch: Blue and yellow stripes

Not sure about this one. The yellow strip makes it look greenish from a distance and its certainly my least favorite of the 4 shirts I bought recently. Excuse the hair, I’ve just washed it and I let it dry naturally. Note the thoughtful, nay wistful look I’ve captured (god I hate taking photos of myself :D )

Shirt watch: White

So, I’m going to flagrantly steal the idea of Sock Watch and Cheese Watch from Blue and start the short lived fad of: Shirt Watch. Todays offering: White linen :) Don’t I look bored (and yes, I wear specs for work).

The requested photos

Pictures of the chickens have arrived :D Unfortunately the [for want of a better word] photographer wasn’t great (thankfully he’s marginally better at photography than website design) so the images aren’t the best in the world.

The terrified looking chicken [first image] is Emma. For those who know Emma (or should I say knew, she’s now moved to the Dark Side and is full of anger and hate… I’m so proud of her :D ) many things in life scare her, me being one of them, so the default expression when I first met her was very similar to that of her namesake. By default this makes the other chicken Cassandra [second image].

For those who care (and lets face it, who doesn’t?) eggs will be forthcoming when they are 4-6 months old so I might get some in August/September as they are 12 weeks old (or at least Jason thinks they are 12 weeks old and his ‘big book of chickens’ said 4-6months old for laying).

The bipedal hominid looking chicken (i.e. not a chicken at all Goron) [third and subsequent images in case you hadn't worked it out by simple face recognition or process of elimination - not the last one though, thats a camera bag] is me, resplendent with new hairdo (its like I just stepped out of the Salon, and yes, I know the new hairdo is almost identical to the old hairdo but the hairdresser said I had lovely hair, should keep it and just put more layers in and shaped the front a bit more so ner!), purple and white shirt and beer gut. Not the worlds best photos but I’m still learning about this self portrait thingy (And no, this paragraph wasn’t meant to spend most of its life in parenthesis but I can’t be bothered to go back and reword it and fix up the grammar to get rid of them, deal with it).

Tomorrow the notblack theme will continue with, depending on the weather, a white linen affair or a dark blue cotton effort. I’m keeping it simple as I am [hopefully] meeting up with Blue after school to impress her with my camera (and ideally so she can impress me with her portrait photography skills so I can have many natural photographs to put up on the dating sites to entice the laydeez :D ) . I think impressive kit [last picture, note: not all of its there as someone has borrowed my wide angle lens and flash] and an impressive shirt [see above] would just be too much for the poor girl. Of course, she’ll out iPod me. I’m not entirely sure how I feel about this.

The post has been bought to you by the symbols ( and ) and the number 12.

One two three four five, six seven eight nine ten, eleven twelve. Twelve. Twelve Twelve! One two three four five, six seven eight nine ten, eleven, twe-eh-eh-eheh-elve (and if you’ve never seen Sesame Street that will have made absolutely no sense to you what so ever).

Its been an awfully long day
