Flower Watch: Chrysanths
Back to the cheap flowers today and Asda were doing chrysanthemums for something stupidly cheaper per bunch so I grabbed a couple of them and went for the mix and match look
I should also point out that the lillies stained nothing and smelled really nice.
Flower watch: Bouquet
I decided to splash out on this weeks flowers and try something new too. The splashing out was a seasonal bouquet which looks quite nice. The something new I’ve not bothered photographing as I thought they’d droop but instead still look like a bunch of White flowers rammed in a vase. I’ll know not to bother next time (and don’t ask me what they’re called
)
Flower watch: roses
This week I went for pink roses as they were reasonably priced. I was going to go for some blue smelly things but they didn’t seem to have any nice bunches so roses it was.

Didn’t fancy carnations again and there wasn’t a huge choice of cheap flowers today (wasn’t feeling flush so roses and lilies were out) so this week we’re doing crysanthenums. Have gone with ms20’s suggestion of not mixing the colours so one vase is white, one is yellow. Once again my arranging is appalling
Flower Watch: Carnations
My last lot of flowers were looking rather sad yesterday but unfortunately I’m not really going to be around much for the rest of this week so I was in two minds as to weather I should replace them. In the end I plumped for a couple of bunches of carnations as they last forever, are pretty cheap and generally take a few days to get to looking their best anyway. Hopefully when I get back at the end of the weekend they should all be out and looking great. For now they look like this:
Flower Watch
So, in conjunction with the critically acclaimed Shirt Watch I present to you: Flower Watch.
I have two tall vases on my dining room table which are pretty much permanently filled with cut flowers, (mainly bought from the supermarket as they cost less and last longer than the flower stalls I’ve tried), plus a small round vase that sometimes gets pressed into use. The vases add some structural height to that part of the room and a nice splash of colour.
For the last couple of weeks I’ve had one vase filled with some flowers bought from Liverpool Street station. They were supposed to fill both vases but I didn’t get enough. Since having a ‘lop sided’ table was driving me nuts I bought some tulips for the other vase. They have since passed their best
These have now been replaced with some roses and some…er…other flowers (I buy based on if they look nice, I really don’t care what they’re called
). My flower arranging leaves something to be desired but they look OK.
Of course, I would be walking home with these when I encountered my first ever swarm of bees. There I am, happily walking along listening to my iPod when all of a sudden I notice the sky is rather full of black shapes flying all round the place. Took my a while to realise what they were, however, before I could say “I’m covered in bees!” they’d flown off.
Might go for lilies again next time.
