Night Out
While being good for a whole host of other reasons, last weeks clubbing outing was, to put it bluntly, rather lame on the musical front. There was an appalling remix of This Is My Rifle and then it sort of descended into hard trance, which is OK but sometimes you really just need tracks like Humid Dreams to zone out to and just go for it. Anyway, in order to rectify this I think I’ll be throwing caution to the wind and going to the Betty Ford Clinic (club, not rehab center) for their final night in a couple of weeks and if ends early, well, I’ll just have to kick around central London for a few hours. At least I know where it is and can walk from there to the station and sit in McDonald’s if I have to. Anyway, if you want to come give me a shout and we can organise something. In the mean time the iDuck is coming out with me tonight since you’re guaranteed a good night when you’ve got a rubber duck with you. Well, that and the fact I’m down to my last 8 glowsticks. I’ve put in a mahoosive order to my suppliers so next weekend should be full of glow once more

Update: Well that sucked. Very few people came out and those that did buggered off at about 9:30. Still, CBT was sporting a nice new t-shirt and at least I managed to get home before the rain started. I think I’d have got rather wet if I’d stayed out for the duration. I’m off to go watch House and then get an early [for a Saturday] night.
No commentsd-day: The aftermath
Parents, read this: Tonight was fun, I went out for a few hours, had a few waters and then went home at a sensible time after eating a healthy mixed salad. I said my prayers, donated some money to charity and then went to bed content that my life was a happy one. The end. Now stop reading.
Everyone else: OK, so part of the reason I stopped drinking is that my surfeit of kidneys meant I could process alcohol FAST. They had to work hard, and in combination with smoking they ended up producing stones, however, a single nights drinking isn’t a problem. Yes, I’ve probably produced a small stone but we’re talking grit here and it’ll pass harmlessly in the next week or so. It’s only when I place the kidneys under constant strain that we produce the 11mm x 8mm x5mm monstrosities that I’ve had in the past. 23 drinks (2 WKD blue, 5ish vodka redbulls, many apple sours, a lot of them doubles) I got to drunk, bordering on wankered. That said I did cheat. I had a half of water before hand, 2 pints of water during, a half of water directly afterwards and 3 pints before bed.
Anyhoos. CBT claimed not to be scared of me. That changed by the end of the night
Got three hugs off her. My friends are all brilliant. Even the ones who didn’t turn up. I seriously wish Sedition was on tonight. Got to wait for the 6th and the Darkside in Leeds. Oh, and I’m no longer caffeine immune, but I’ve had an awful lof lot of redbull so me and a pair of glowsticks are going to dance the night away in the spare room until I get tired and fall asleep
Tonight is bought to you by:
- Grendel
- Blut Engel
- Carfax Abbey
- Combichrist
- More Grendel
- Ultraviolence
- Fear Factory
- Dulce Liquido
- Threat Signal
Nooooooo!
Well, as I feared it looks like Sedition is taking a bit of a break. Bugger. I do hope it starts up again as everything was there, just the people never showed. In the words of Captain Slow: Cock.

So my high capacity 24 glowstick combats (yes, I rate combats on carrying capacity. They’d actually be 32 glowstick combats if it wasn’t for the fact I carry other stuff too. Most of them are only 8 or 16 glowstick) broke midway through last night. I was zipping up when most of the metal pull bit on the zip just broke off. The fly already had a tendency to descend on it’s own and now I need to use a finger nail to zip up. I think I’ll have to retire them and find a new pair. Will pop into Camden on one of my many jaunts into London.

Yup, it’s the early morning I need to stop myself from falling asleep on the train after a night at sedition post resplendant with typos, spelling mistakes, a complete lack of grammar and no real point other than to stave off the sugar crash, caffine crash and near exhaustion which are my companions on the 05:30 to Ipswitch calling at everywhere.
On the plus side there is a remarkably attractive (in a girl next door type way, which I quite like) girl sitting in view and despite the fact she’s also obviously been out all night too and looks how I feel I’m rather enjoying looking in her general direction. Since she’s asleep and I can’t handle coherent thoughts I’m not going to talk to her. I’m also in desperate need of a shower which will give I’d +5 to repelling women and -3 to attractiveness. She also looks to be older than me which us a turn up for the books as I tend to go for early to mid 20’s.
So, yeah. Sedition. Well I thought it was bloody excellent with two good bands (might actually buy the first ones album if I can find it for sale), blinding DJ sets and me on the dancefloor solidly for over 4 hours. Downside: there were bugger all people there. Personally I’m not fussed if the dancefloor is empty since it means I get to monopolise the DJ and dance to my favourite tracks all night but one can’t help but think that it’s all going to go belly up if more people don’t turn up. That would be a Bad Thing™.
Given staying in London overnight is hideously expensive I need clubs that stay open till 4am at the earliest. 5 is better. That way I can pile out, jump on the first tube and grab a train home. Most clubs seem to shut too early and/or don’t play the music I want all night. I want to he able to hit the dancefloor, become one with the music and not worry about anything for hours. I’d also like the moon on a blue stick. Anyhoos, we’ll see what happens next month and I may have a chat with DJ Rex about bringing a box of glow bracelets and glow necklaces to give out just as another way to bribe people into coming out to play.
The other downside of too few people is they ended the night 40 minutes early
You made me miss out on 40 minutes of destressing meaning I am only 83% destressed which means I’ll be 17% bitchier and whinier this month. You all brought it on yourselves so don’t come running to me
Anyway, as incentive to come next month everyone who attends will be given immunity from the firing squads when I’m voted into power
Lets just hope there is a next month. I’ll be miffed if there isn’t.
Friday
Right, looks like I’ll be going to the pub with girlba Friday afternoon/evening then going to sedition. I don’t need to come into London for any other reason (other than to pick up my tshirt, but hopefully that’ll come tomorrow when I’m kicking about there) so I can just pootle in whenever people are going to be around. If they cancel (which is the norm these days
) I’ll just leave from home later. all nice and easy.
So, pub: likely to be crashing someones leaving do
Sedition: still on

There has been talk of frequenting a public house this coming Friday prior to clubbing, however, in order for me to turn up I need to be assured that at least one of you lot will be there until 11 (or will be coming clubbing with me) otherwise I get to kick around London until Sedition starts and I’m not so keen on that. Would rather go home at normal time, possibly even pop into the local, drool over CBT, then head back into London having showered, shaved, made oneself look stunning and generally not kicking about by myself bored. If we can’t get these assurances (possibly with written contracts, signed in blood) then I’ll not be coming out to play until Sedition at 11ish. Promises to come followed by cancellations will be met with a swift, brutal and disproportionately violent death.
With that in mind, who wants to come to the pub on Friday?

Its nearly time for Sedition again (woo
) I shall be there, if any of you reprobates want to come I can organise to meet you at a pub before hand or in the club. It’s a good night, you should come ![]()
ZOMG! KITTEH!
So, after 6 months of hassling her to do so Cat has finally come up to stay in Colchester (Woo, and quite possibly Yay!). She arrived about 5ish after having a 3 hour drive due to traffic (or, much more likely, arrived at 3 after a 1 hour drive and then spent 2 hours trying to find the place
) whereupon we talked, I cooked my pasta’n’sauce’n'bacon’n’stuff creation (apparently very nice) before I dragged Cat the 1 mile (despite protestations from her that is was further) to go to the pub, meet my friends and see the near mythical cute bar tender (CBT as she will hence forth be known)
Personally I would have said the pub section of the night was pretty normal (we may find that Cat states otherwise
) although there were some notable changes.
First and foremost was the arrival of Fanta (orange and lemon) behind the bar. Bottles for the time being, but on tap soon hopefully. I was very excited about this as it meant I didn’t have to drink more lemonade (I’m known as Lemonade boy *sob*) and Fanta is both less gassy and gives me a choice of flavours. Turns out they didn’t buy enough of the stuff though as I drank every bottle they had behind the bar. I think there are a few more bottles in the store room for tomorrow but I’m going to have to have a word with hte landlord and sort out a proper supply, plus warn him about nights where I’m not there (for example next Friday) so he doesn’t over stock.
Second was the fact that Colchester now has an alternative club (I won’t go so far as to call it a rock night, although the music was most certainly bearable) so poor old Cat got dragged out to one of the crappest clubs I’ve ever been too (yes, even worse than the Met Lounge in Peterborough) to watch a bunch of kids doing that school disco type dance thing where no one really wants to move that much and everyone bunches up into groups. Since we (as a collective group) know one of the DJ’s I think a word in their shell like will be had an perhaps a little half hour niche carved out for us so we can show the kids how it’s really done.
So Cat is now alseep in the spare room. I’m about to fall asleep in my room and then tomorrow (depending on when it starts) we may do the zoo, then grab some food, pub, drool over CBT, possibly get Cat drunk again and maybe have another philosophical debate about the rightness, or otherwise, of the humble kebab like we did tonight (apparently she is some kind of heathen who doesn’t ‘do’ kebabs). I may also try to explain the who rhyme and reason behind computer games (Guitar Hero really didn’t do it for her) and possibly even show her my wheel and pedals for racing games. What a thrillingly exciting life I lead.
Right. Bed time as I’m falling asleep here.
Toodles
P.S. Photos to follow sometime this weekend ![]()
Early night
Early night tonight (for a Friday) as I’ve got a day long Tai Chi thing in the morning. Little miffed as it turns out the club I wanted to check out tonight hadn’t actually been canceled, but I figured Tai Chi was better for me than going clubbing all night, plus I’m absolutely shattered, I can always club next month and this is not a regular thing for the Tai Chi so if it’s good and I miss out I’ll be really miffed
.
Anyway, the good news is my Camera which got borked a while ago isn’t going to cost as much to fix as I thought it was. It was the shutter that went, but it’s only 60 something quid (plus 180 quid labour and VAT, but I knew about that bit) not the $700 (which lets face it, is going to be £700 the way electronics work) which my mate was telling me a new mirror box can cost. Hopefully have it back in a week so I can start taking photos again ![]()
