MkIII Clubbing Troos
So I’m in a good mood today (see previous post, and possibly next post). I’m in a good mood for many, many reasons from as small as ‘it’s the weekend soon’ to ‘I’m going out clubbing’ to ‘None of your business’ :D. Just to reassure you that I have completely lost it (I lost it years ago, don’t worry), I am also in a good mood due to the purchasing of Mk III clubbing troos.
“WTF?” I hear you say. WTF indeed.
The MKI clubbing troos were a pair of 24 glowstick (I rate all my combats in terms of glowstick carrying capacity once they’ve been loaded with sunglasses, wallet, iPhone, headphones, etc) slightly cammo effect 4 pocket combats from Next. They matched my shoes at the time (tragic, I know, but hey) and worked well for the types of club I went to. Their first outing was to Rock City and the have since been to many clubs.
The MKII clubbing troos were bought because a) Next didn’t stock the MkI’s any more, b) the Ml1’s were suffering from a zip failure which could lead to wardrobe malfunction if not checked regularly and c) I was going to a trance club and wanted something a little more ‘trendy’. The MkII’s are only a 16 glowstick capacity (8×2 rather than 6×4), although they have smaller ancillary pockets which are useful.
The MkI’s broke completely a few weeks ago and I wanted something a little more… well… ‘me’ than the MkII’s. My MkI and MkII wearing troos would do at a push but some of those are only 12 glowstick and a lot of them are actually in the wash (don’t like leaving washing out while the cleaners are here as it gets in the way so I don’t do washing during the latter half of every other week). Cue the MkIII troos. They are from Next and similar to the MkI’s but there are only 3 leg pockets, not 4 which are slightly bigger which could possibly allow for a 24 stick capacity, but at the moment I’m going to rate them as 20. Thats 3 lots of 6 in the pockets and, and this is why we’re so thoroughly excited about these trousers, 4 in the pocket that is just perfect for glowsticks. Look! Little hoops and all. It’s just all so wonderfully exciting (you have to bear in mind I was trying to get my mother to make me something like this a couple of months ago. She declined).
And yes, I’m aware of the fact that I need to get out more (or less, depending on if you think I should be kept away from people). At least I’ve spared you commentary on the MkII wearing troos, MkI and MkII t-shirts (I’m thinking of getting rid of the MkI’s) and my plans for MkIII t-shirts.
…bouncy, bouncy, bouncy, bouncy, bouncy…

taking sunglasses clubbing, how very 1995 of you.
you do know that you could learn to sew if you wanted to ammend the pocket capacity of any pair of trews? tis not gender specific skill.
The sunglasses don’t actually get worn in the club (like you say very 1995), but during the summer when it’s light out I often wear them heading to and leaving from the club.
I lack a sewing machine and the time to learn to sew. My mother has a sewing machine and is very good at sewing
Dom, do you think you might need to take some form of medication?
Almost certainly
Which clubs do you go to? Used to absolutely *adore* the 414 club in London…. wicked!!!!!
The Slimelight mainly. I used to go to Sedition but that has since stopped and, without crash space, going anywhere else tends to involve a hotel which starts making it expensive. Never been the to 414 club but from the looks of it that’s more hard house/techno than EBM.
Mainly hard house and Trance, some funky, some break beats. Whats EBM? not that up on the lingo these days! I always drive home in the mornings, saves having to find crash space.
EBM is Electro Body Music. Peruse the SoTW section there is a lot of EBM in there.
Driving home isn’t an option for me. I either need to get a train or a hotel. Even if I could drive I’d be too shattered
