Blond
I caught sight of myself in the train window this morning while it pulled in and thought ‘hmm, I wonder if I should go blond’. I’m not talking bleached blond here, just a couple of shades lighter so I end up looking something like blokey from Apocalyptica (guy on the left). Anyway, I mulled it over and thought what the hell, why not. So I got out my card for Toni and Guy and was just about to call them when I saw how much it’s going to cost. What with a haircut and all we’re looking well over a ton, possibly a ton fifty and given my current state of poorness* and the need to pay for camera repairs I think I’ll wait until I’m less poor. Of course, feel free to tell my what a wonderfully good/bad idea it is in the mean time.
*poorness is a relative term. Poor for me is when I worry about spending over £100 on something. That said, I am owed some £700 from various places which would help pay for it. Must get onto the electric people and ask them if they can’t give me the £250 I’m in credit (after only a year!). Someone remind me tomorrow. Oh, and if anyone reads this tonight remind me I need to take in some more teabags into work. Text or comment will work (I’ll get an email from a comment and I check email when I wake up).

Remember the teabags!!!!
(Will that do??!!??)
Go blond. We have more fun
Oh and don’t forget the tea!
Yay, blog reminders work
It occurred to me that I could try a home dyeing kit, anyone used these and how hard is it (don’t want to end up taking 2 weeks off in hiding while it washes out due to looking silly
)
Hmm. Having just read up on home dyeing I think I’ll give that a miss
The things some people do at 6am in the morning…
(or is your blog an hour out?!!?)
It’s an hour out - was on the train when I did that.
Was set to UTC, now UTC+1 - someone will have to remind me to change it when the clocks change again
Dom - change back to UTC when the clocks change. And dont forget your teabags.
I think if you could find someone sympathetic to help you dye at home you’d be fine. I’d offer, but I fear you would not trust my good intentions. (and really, I think you should go platinum….)
Can’t you dye it yourself?
Unless you don’t want to look completely silyl - get it done professionally .. if it goes horribly wrong they foot the bill .. if it goes horribly wrong for you doing it yourself .. you will still have a hefty bill on top!
The only home dying I’ve done was a nice shade of blue, the thing was it mostly ended up all over the bathroom much to the amusement of my then girlfriend, though the scene was less well received by my mum. It also came out in a big blue slick at the swimming pool, oddly they gave me a job as a life guard a year or so later, must not have recognised me when my skin wasn’t tinted that way
Home dying sounds bad. Anyway, all major expenditure is on hold until I know what’s happening with jobs and money.
Good plan. You don’t want a bad head of hair. It’s your best accessory
Oh, and as to the teabag reminder what you should have said it: Dom, don’t worry, you’ll only be at work for a few more hours
Still, as a proof of concept it worked.
Breezy, you’re right about the hair, I’d be gutted if I damaged it.
I’ll remember that for next time.
Maybe they chose you because you hadn’t been pulling your weight in the tea-bringing department??
(Only kidding! :p)
Nope - I bring my own tea as I drink decaff. The firm provide us with free tea and coffee. I’m sure if they didn’t it would pay for me to stay
