Notice To Friends And Family
I don’t really do Birthday’s or Christmas any more, however, I still do Easter so now is the time to shower me with gifts. The following gift items are acceptable:
- Chocolate
- Chocolate Eggs
- Chocolate Eggs with nice fillings
- Chocolate Eggs with bars of Chocolate
I like mass produced milk chocolate, however, a word of caution: I don’t believe in the new Smarties and they are anathema to me. Now go nuts 
What about Reese’s Peanut Butter eggs?? Yum yum! New Smarties? That’s blasphemy!
Peanut Butter eggs? Hmmm. Not sure.
Yes, Smarties in the UK are now blazoned with a warning sign that says ‘no artificial colourings’ and they don’t taste the same. From what I understand, the only place you can buy real Smarties from now is Canada.
Another peice of Smartie trivia is that in the US they’re sold as ‘Jolly Smart Alecs’ as there was already a sweet called Smarties out there.
Hmmm, I’ve never heard of Jolly Smart Alecs. Is that for real? Smarties here are little candies, sooo good. I only see them at Halloween though.
Next time I go, I’ll have to get some Smarties, but I prefer M & M’s!
Try the peanut butter eggs. They’re just Reese’s peanut butter cups shaped like an egg. They do shapes for V day and Xmas too. Yummmm.
Canada is super close to me
They’re for real, but they’re a specialist product so you’ll only find them in certain shops in the US. I did a whole load of research on this as I love Smarties and when I learned they were being ruined I wanted to see if people going to our office in the US could export several hundred tubes at a time for me.

And yes the ‘new’ smarties are just wrong.
I’ve never liked smarties. Too sweet and too chocolatey. I must express dismay in why people seem to like chocolate so much. It’s just yuck.
