Eggy Bread

Eggy bread for breakfast tomorrow. For those not in the know, eggy bread is bread that is… well, eggy really.

Take a couple of eggs. Break into a bowl, whisk with a fork, season to taste, take a quarter slice of bead, soak in egg, place in pre heated frying pan. Repeat until no egg is left. After a couple of minutes flip the bread and cook the other side. When both sides are a lovely brown colour it’s done. Place the eggy bread on a plate and serve with barbeque sauce. I generally find 2 eggs per person works well. Enjoy :)

Eggy Bread and barbecue sauce? To misquote ‘Make me some slices and I’ll be back for breakfast’ :D

I actually didn’t get up until 1pm (11.5 hours sleep - woo!) so I missed out on this culinary delight. Feeling distinctly toilet today so I’m working from home and may well do it for lunch.

Fry in butter and sprinkle with freshly grated nutmeg. Mmmm.

Hmmn - I prefer in oil and without the nutmeg (although I do add pepper and some herbs to the egg before whisking it).
