The outpourings of a deranged mind

Harmony bit me!

Harmony, my sword with the live blade, bit me the other day. Nothing serious and it was my own fault. Wasn’t paying attention when I was sheathing her, however, I was seriously impressed at how well she cut. I literally rubbed the blade gently across my finger and was rewarded with an inch long, perfectly straight cut. Now, if it had been a papercut it would rate as pretty serious, but for a [remarkably sharp] sword it was a scratch (I’ve done worse with kitchen knives) :) Still, seriously impressed by what that blade can do.

So if you aren’t around for a bit, we are to assume you have impaled yourself on one of these shiny things and are receiving hospital treatment? :)

I tend not to wave Harmony about so hopefully I shouldn’t impale myself :D I do clean all the swords every week so there is a chance of minor injury if I don’t pay attention. I generally practice with Serenity (my Tsuru Iaido training sword) which is nice and blunt and therefore unlikely to do me much damage. Kind of hoping the cut scars. Look like it’s going to. Having a scar from a sword wound (just wont tell people I was being dozy when I did it) would be cool :D

Having met Harmony I’m surprised you didnt take your hand off. I’m not sure the scar is in the right sort of place to be actually cool. It looks more like you were being a dozy idjit while cleaning it…

Well I only rubbed my finger along it so no chance of taking my hand off. I wasn’t being a dozy idjit cleaning it, I was being a dozy idjit while sheathing it.

Shall we try a few test scars on you to find one that looks ‘cool’? :P
