Turnoffs: Long hair

Not that I’ve spent all day say browsing match.com (its true, I’ve spent some of it browsing other sites too :) ) but I am getting a little frustrated with its search feature. I have long hair. I happen to like my hair so it’s not going anywhere in a hurry. It would seem that the vast majority of women out there find long hair a turnoff (seriously girls, not all long hair is bad, I actually look after mine :D ). Match.com allows people to specify if they find long hair a turn on, turn off or if they don’t care. It also allows you to specify what your ideal match’s turn ons and turn offs will be in the advanced search section. You’d think, therefore, that I could just filter out all the women who don’t like long hair and be done with it. No. Doesn’t seem to work like that. I can specify that they must find long hair a turn on and still get results with people who find long hair a turn off, and near the top of the list too. Highly annoying. I’ve got very adept at clicking on a profile, scrolling to the bottom, seeing the inevitable Turnoffs: long hair and moving on. Since I’m obviously not going out tonight I’m going to go back to looking through hundreds of profiles of women who live near stations that my train goes through :D

Hangover

Right, which one of you sods has misplaced a hangover? I appear to have it and, since I didn’t have anything to drink last night I think its grossly unfair that I should suffer. I would go back to sleep but John Lewis are delivering my replacement bedside table (at some point today) and I don’t want to be answering the door in my dressing gown with that bleary eyes ‘can’t focus on the world just yet’ look in my eyes. Annoyingly, since they could turn up at any time I can’t go have a shower (answering the door in a dressing gown dripping wet is even worse than in a dressing gown and half asleep). I think I shall go get better aquainted with my new sofa and slob until they come.

Transformers

The transformers film is  very silly film. Falls firmly into the category of crap sci-fi which meant I loved it. Was rather fun watching it at the Empire cinema in Leicester Square as the audience really got into it with much laughing, cheering and clapping at key points in the film. It’s also the second night in a row where I’ve got back at gone 01:30 in the morning so I’m absolutely paggered. Time for bed methinks….

Bored

OK, so I’m off out with some mates tonight to watch Transformers and I’ve got some stuff I need to do on Sunday afternoon but my Saturday is looking distinctly devoid of anything to do. I could seriously do without going out and blowing off some steam but absolutely no one I know is up for it (doesn’t everyone get so boring when they grow up?). I’ve even asked my mates in Zürich on the off chance I could pop over there for a night out. No joy. My only hope now is if my next door neighbour is off out into town tomorrow and I can tag along there, otherwise I might just be forced to try speed dating which sounds like it could be fun but ends pretty early on and may not have the ‘out till 3am going wild’ bit I’m after. Also toying with the idea of sodding off to Nottingham and going to Rock City. Been a while since I’ve been there :) Could possible ship one or two of my mates from Leeds to act as wingman… hmmm…. longshot.

Shirt watch: Blue and yellow stripes

Not sure about this one. The yellow strip makes it look greenish from a distance and its certainly my least favorite of the 4 shirts I bought recently. Excuse the hair, I’ve just washed it and I let it dry naturally. Note the thoughtful, nay wistful look I’ve captured (god I hate taking photos of myself :D )

:D

Sometimes life is out to get you. Tonight is not one of those nights :D . I’ve not had so much fun in a long time :) There will be pictures later, but its the last train home, I’m going to get all of no sleep before having to get up for work tomorrow* so it’s unlikely they’ll be sorted much before the weekend. More details later. Maybe :P

* My views on this may well change once the full extent of the bugger all sleep kick in but at the moment I don’t care. Was planning on staying in a hotel but then I suddenly realised I’m going out tomorrow night, I’m moving desks tomorrow and so I need to get my camera bag home. Thank God I arranged to get in late so I can at least sleep in until 7.

Shirt watch: White

So, I’m going to flagrantly steal the idea of Sock Watch and Cheese Watch from Blue and start the short lived fad of: Shirt Watch. Todays offering: White linen :) Don’t I look bored (and yes, I wear specs for work).

Job applications

Oh dear, it would appear that people have started using facebook as a way of trying to get jobs. I got a message from some random person asking if my company, or anyone I knew was hiring and if so could I pass their details on. Er…. no :P

Cold Callers II

Oh, my cold caller returned yesterday while I was waiting for my Amex to fail to arrive. I very quickly established that I was not the person he was after, that I had no mortgage [lie] so I wasn’t interested in anything he was selling and that I would like that number removed form his companies database. This seemed to strike a nerve with the guy as he asked in an incredulous voice if he sounded like a salesman to me. I told him he did and that he was selling something. He told me he wasn’t he was simply going to allow me to save money on my existing mortgage, wasn’t as salesman and was upset that I thought he was. I failed to believe him and asked him, once again, to remove my number from their database. He launched into his sales pitch about what would have happened if I was interested in whatever it was he wasn’t selling in order to convince me he wasn’t a salesman so I hung up on him. I suspect I’ll hear from him again.

The requested photos

Pictures of the chickens have arrived :D Unfortunately the [for want of a better word] photographer wasn’t great (thankfully he’s marginally better at photography than website design) so the images aren’t the best in the world.

The terrified looking chicken [first image] is Emma. For those who know Emma (or should I say knew, she’s now moved to the Dark Side and is full of anger and hate… I’m so proud of her :D ) many things in life scare her, me being one of them, so the default expression when I first met her was very similar to that of her namesake. By default this makes the other chicken Cassandra [second image].

For those who care (and lets face it, who doesn’t?) eggs will be forthcoming when they are 4-6 months old so I might get some in August/September as they are 12 weeks old (or at least Jason thinks they are 12 weeks old and his ‘big book of chickens’ said 4-6months old for laying).

The bipedal hominid looking chicken (i.e. not a chicken at all Goron) [third and subsequent images in case you hadn't worked it out by simple face recognition or process of elimination - not the last one though, thats a camera bag] is me, resplendent with new hairdo (its like I just stepped out of the Salon, and yes, I know the new hairdo is almost identical to the old hairdo but the hairdresser said I had lovely hair, should keep it and just put more layers in and shaped the front a bit more so ner!), purple and white shirt and beer gut. Not the worlds best photos but I’m still learning about this self portrait thingy (And no, this paragraph wasn’t meant to spend most of its life in parenthesis but I can’t be bothered to go back and reword it and fix up the grammar to get rid of them, deal with it).

Tomorrow the notblack theme will continue with, depending on the weather, a white linen affair or a dark blue cotton effort. I’m keeping it simple as I am [hopefully] meeting up with Blue after school to impress her with my camera (and ideally so she can impress me with her portrait photography skills so I can have many natural photographs to put up on the dating sites to entice the laydeez :D ) . I think impressive kit [last picture, note: not all of its there as someone has borrowed my wide angle lens and flash] and an impressive shirt [see above] would just be too much for the poor girl. Of course, she’ll out iPod me. I’m not entirely sure how I feel about this.

The post has been bought to you by the symbols ( and ) and the number 12.

One two three four five, six seven eight nine ten, eleven twelve. Twelve. Twelve Twelve! One two three four five, six seven eight nine ten, eleven, twe-eh-eh-eheh-elve (and if you’ve never seen Sesame Street that will have made absolutely no sense to you what so ever).

Its been an awfully long day
