Soooooo Tired
Been a busy week with lots of after school activities so I was rather looking forward to an early night on Wednesday (my one free night). The plan was to get home, empty my bin (exciting life I know), mooch about for an hour or two and go to sleep. The fact I couldn’t stay awake on the train on the way home tells you how tired I was.
The plan was instantly defeated on my arrival home when my next door neighbour popped out for a chat. 5 hours, 8 beers (or in my case 2 litres of squash) later and it was well past my bedtime. Still, a fun night was had and he’s going to take me out to a few pubs and bars in Colchester so hopefully I should meet a few more people in the area.
No matter. Last night was a light night at school (photo shoot for the graduate recruitment brochure) but I figured I’d be home in time to grab 7 hours of sleep at worse. On the way home I get a call from my neighbour asking if I wouldn’t mind helping him move his old sofa to make way for the new one. Thinking it would take 5 minutes I agreed so at 9pm I got home, grabbed a drink and was having a 5 minute sit down before shifting furniture. Our neighbour from downstairs then popped up to say hi and any hopes of getting in to bed on time were dashed. 5 hours later, god knows how many beers, juice and squash later and I’m finally moving furniture and thinking ‘I need to be up in just over 4 hours time!’.
Shopping tonight, but when I get home I’m going to sleep the sleep of the dead ![]()

What sociable new neighbours you have!
Maybe you can disconnect your doorbell and get some well-earned kip… and hope your neighbours don’t read your blog
Doorbell is actually outside the flats - they just come and knock on the door
Still - new town so its useful to meet new people
