Death to the cable monster!
The cable monster has been vanquished!
Actually, its been hidden in the wooden cupboard to the right, but then you try organising that lot (there are 17 power cables alone!). The public face of things is quite neat but when you look behind the cupboard the truth begins to unfold (I’m guessing there is about 200m worth of cable in that setup). Only when you look inside the cupboard is the full horror revealed. The sofa, when it arrives, will go in front of the TV ![]()

Was that a VCR in your cupboard?
It was indeed. I have a couple of Video Home System cassette tapes that I want to dump onto DVD (mainly some old circa 1985 recordings from Channel 55 in Bahrain - so bad its funny). Its only wired up to the mini via a DV capture box, couldn’t be arsed to dump a SCART to the TV.
It seems less like vanquishing the cable monster, more like caging it. The cable is now unable to roam free around the living room but confined to an enclosure. I do hope that conditions in the enclosure are up to standard.
I believe under EU law the Cable Monster is classified as vermin and therefore requires no special treatment.
